Thanksgiving Turkey Time

Obviously there are some holidays that are automatically more fun for children than others. Thanksgiving may not be any preschoolers favorite holiday but that doesn’t mean we can’t have a blast with it! Here are some fun activities we did this week to learn about turkeys, colonial times, and this November holiday.

This is a cute turkey matching game I was gifted many years ago.

Other centers I put out this were a Fall-themed bin in the science center, Lincoln Logs in the block center, gratitude quilt prompts in the writing center, and turkey feather quills in the art center.

Here are some fun books we read

At music we played the Turkey Freeze Dance and the Turkey Pokey which were absolutely hilarious.

I got creative with snack time too! Because this is a holiday that centers around a meal, I thought it would be fun to incorporate some of the foods into our snacks. One day we had cornbread muffins with cranberry sauce, one day we had dinner rolls and sliced turkey, and one day we had pie!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!!
